The King's Speech

Speaking in front of a small group of people is nerve-wracking1 enough for most people. But what if you have to convey a very important message to all the people in your country? What's more, you have a speech impediment2—a terrible stutter. This is the difficult situation that Prince Albert faces. Based on the true story of King George VI, "The King's Speech" shows the future monarch's3 inspirational quest to find his voice.

Prince Albert is extremely afraid of speaking in public because he stutters, a problem he has had all his life. After an embarrassing attempt at speaking at the British Empire Exhibition in 1925, Albert's wife, Elizabeth, arranges for him to see an eccentric4 Australian speech therapist5, Lionel Logue. Using unconventional methods, Logue breaks through Albert's defenses and helps him overcome his speech impediment. During the process, Logue and Albert form an unbreakable bond. Prince Albert counts on this as he is forced to become the next king of England and has to deliver the speech of a lifetime to his countrymen6. Don't miss "The King's Speech"—it will leave you speechless.
