Tiger Man 老虎私生活

Tigers are native to eastern and southern Asia, so what are they doing in South Africa? These big cats are part of one man's dream to raise a group of tigers that can live on their own in the wild. John Varty is a South African filmmaker as well as a lover of big cats, and he is known as the Tiger Man. He established Tiger Canyons2 to give one of nature's deadliest yet endangered1 animals a chance of survival.

National Geographic Channel's "Tiger Man" shares Varty's incredible footage3 of the intimate4 life of tigers with viewers. Some scenes, such as a tigress5 giving birth, have never been seen before. Others show the violent yet touching nature of tigers mating6, raising their cubs7, and fighting for territory8. The Tiger Man witnesses the birth of a rare white cub, but he also has to decide whether to step in and raise abandoned cubs himself. The series follows Varty as he increases his starting group of two males and two females into a family of nearly 20 tigers. For an unforgettable ride, don't miss NGC's "Tiger Man" this month.
