A World of Water 令人過癮的水上活動‏

As the summer comes to an end, many people head to the beach on the weekends and try to take advantage of the last bit of sunshine. While they are there, a lot of them like to do water sports in the ocean. One sport in particular, surfing, has really taken off in Taiwan. It is common to see groups of people taking surfing lessons at the water's edge. Later, you see them trying to stand up on the boards and ride the water even though the waves are small. 　 　隨著暑假接近尾聲，許多人都趁著週末前往海邊，試著善用夏末的最後一絲陽光。當他們待在海邊時，很多人都喜歡在海上從事各項水上運動。尤其是當中的一項運動－－衝浪，已經在台灣蔚為流行。在海邊常常會看到一群又一群的人在學衝浪。接著您就會看到他們試著站在衝浪板上駕馭海浪，儘管這些浪頭並沒有多大。 　　Another water sport in Taiwan is whitewater rafting1. During a rafting trip, eight to 10 people plus a guide ride down a river in an inflatable2 boat. Usually, the river has some rough areas, so the boat sometimes gets flipped over. This is usually the riskiest but also the most exciting part of the trip. Most whitewater rafting trips in Taiwan are done in Hualien. 台灣還有另一項水上運動，那就是急流泛舟。在泛舟的過程中，八到十個人連同一名領隊會共同乘坐一艘充氣艇順流而下。河流裡往往會有一些崎嶇不平的區域，因此有時候會發生翻船的狀況。而這通常是整趟泛舟過程中最驚險也最刺激的部分。台灣大多數急流泛舟的地點都位於花蓮。 　　Also in Hualien, the Sha Po-dang River is a great place for river tracing3. This exciting activity starts at the bottom of the river, and people have to climb up waterfalls, swim through the water, or jump from rock to rock in the river. The object is to follow the river up to its source. The Sha Po-dang River is an intermediate4 level course, so it can be fun for the whole family. 同樣在花蓮的砂婆礑溪也是溯溪的絕佳地點。這項刺激的活動從河流下游開始進行，人們必須攀爬瀑布、游過溪流，或是在河裡的岩石間跳躍前行。其目標是要沿著河水逆行到河流源頭。砂婆礑溪是中等程度的溯溪路線，所以對全家大小來說都十分有趣好玩。
