Dale is visiting his good friend, Yoshi, in Japan for a week, and they are eating at a Japanese restaurant in downtown Tokyo. Dale is asking Yoshi what she thinks they should order to drink with their meal.
Dale: What should we have to drink with our meal? This picture in the menu looks good to me! Dale:
Yoshi: That is "shochu". It's a distilled liquor made from grain and it's about 50% proof!
Dale: Whoa! That's a bit too strong for my taste. What about ordering some sake?
Dale:
Yoshi: We can if you want to. Did you know that sake is also used as a generic term for alcohol? The correct term for refined Japanese rice wine is "seishu" or "nihonshu".
Dale: I had no idea. Oh! Look here! Here's a page full of Japanese beer brands. I think I'll just have a beer.
Yoshi: Have you ever tried "happoshu"?
Dale: No. What's that?
Dale:
Yoshi: It's a low-malt beer, and it's quite popular.
Yoshi:
Dale: What is the best-selling Japanese brand of beer in Japan?
Dale:
Yoshi: Asahi's Super Dry is the number one beer here.
Yoshi:
Dale: Okay. That settles it. I've made up my mind. I'll have a bottle of Asahi Super Dry.
Yoshi: Great. I think I'll get the same!
Yoshi:
